Arts Without Borders welcomes Marina Endicott once again as our Lloydminster Reads author with her novel The Difference.
Join us on Thursday, June 23 at 7pm at the Centennial Civic Centre Auditorium (2nd floor) for a lively discussion with author Marina Endicott. Meet the author, get the books and check out works by some of our local authors. Refreshments and desserts as well as a wine and beer bar will be available.
The story: Kay and Thea are half-sisters, separated in age by almost twenty years, but deeply attached. When their stern father dies, Thea returns to Nova Scotia for her long-promised marriage to the captain of the Morning Light. But she cannot abandon her orphaned young sister, so Kay too embarks on a life-changing voyage to the other side of the world.
Arts Without Borders, in conjuction with Lloydminster Little Theatre, is pleased to present Almost, Maine by John Cariani for 3 performances on June 24 & 25 at 7:30pm and June 26 at 2:00pm.
Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
